Communicator for Mac 2011 (Includes Software Assurance) (English)

Description:
Communicator for Mac 2011 is a communications client that works in conjunction with Office Communications Server or Lync Server. In one Communicator Conversation window, users can talk to each other using instant messaging (IM), voice, or video and can switch back and forth between modes. In a user's list of contacts, each contact has a presence button: green for available, yellow for away, or red for busy. Communicator also adds presence buttons to other Office for Mac applications like Outlook, and conversations can be started directly from those applications.

Each contact in the list has a call button that can be clicked to call the contact's default phone number. Contacts can be grouped, and users can start conversations with an entire group at once. Contacts can include users on federated networks — separate organizations that are linked by using Office Communications Server or Lync Server.

Users of Communicator for Mac can have IM conversations with contacts who use Lync 2010 or Communicator 2007 for Windows or public IM clients such as AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger.

Communicator for Mac 2011 is also one of the applications included in the Office for Mac 2011 Standard suite. The standalone edition of Communicator for Mac is available only through Volume Licensing programs, such as the one offered through PNGO Program.
